Fantastic staff. Amazing hospitality! Felt like home. Very comfortable rooms with a garden view and over looking the perfection of the tea plantation. Built over a 100 years ago. This place will take you back in time and expose you to the luxuries of the past era.

Beautiful bungalow in a stunning location surrounded by a tea plantation

The Talapoya bungalow is situated in a very beautiful setting amongst their own tea plantation. The bungalow and gardens are immaculate and the rooms are enormous . The furnishings are very nice and antique , if a little tired. The history of the plantation goes back to 1927. There also is a very nice swimming pool a sauna and a steam room. We were welcomed by two very pleasant local women who did everything including the reception, cleaning our room and waitressing. I have no complaints about these two lovely women but the place seemed to be entirely reliant on them. There was a young man who was in the background and I wondered if he was a manager but apart from smiling he seemed rather awkward and uncomfortable. The food was very disappointing . There were only 4 people staying when we were there so that could be the reason why there was so few staff. I myself am vegan but throughout our tour in India there has never been a problem to get vegan food but here the chef didn't seem to understand what vegan meant even though we had expressed that I was vegan prior to coming. All of us were quite disappointed in the meals which lacked flavour and choice. The lamps in our room are very grand but the shades are old with rust where the metal touched the material, also one of the lamps was broken and hanging down. We mentioned this but no one ever came to replace it. We ended up bringing a standard lamp to the bedside which was fine. After we arrived and had settled in ,a delightful gentleman , whose name I forget welcomed us whilst we were sitting in the garden. He is the manager of the tea plantation and he gave us a most interesting tour of the plantation, the tea factory, their other bungalow with their lovely staff and the old recreation centre which is a museum piece. We then went to their shop and bought some tea to take home. Despite the above criticisms it is a stunning location with gorgeous accommodation.

Tea has a unique quality that inspires us to quietly reflect on life. The sight of a tea garden fresh after rainfall is truly remarkable. We visited the Parison's Tea Plantation in Wayand and found ourselves unexpectedly housed in a serene, incredibly stunning cottage from the British era. The journey from the Wayand railway station took us four hours, with a car in excellent condition ready for our use. The check-in process was easy and our room was assigned according to our previously stated preferences. The British-style bungalow was constructed a century ago and features six large, captivating rooms equipped with all necessary facilities. Each room opens to a garden view, with the Parison's tea estate as a delightful backdrop. It also includes swimming pool , spa and gymn .We were guided by Shad and Binoy on a short trip to another bungalow, which, smaller in size, was equivalently charming. We relished the delightful tea and jackfruit cake and purchased some tea as a souvenir to take home. The food is homestyle and scrumptious, but don't expect it to be a five-star dining experience. Jooby did a fantastic job catering to all our requirements; she is a wonderful lady. We spent four nights there and, for the last three, had the pleasure of having the entire bungalow to ourselves. We would gladly revisit. We highly appreciate the staff and the chef for their commendable service.
